Emily is an Australian Backstroke Swimmer and has been on the Australian Team since she was 14 years old. Emily has competed at three Commonwealth Games 2010, 2014 and 2018, World Championships 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and the Olympic Games 2008, 2012 and 2016 where she has won over 20 medals and been a World Champion three times a World Record holder and Olympic Gold Medalist.
On 26 January 2009, Seebohm was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
At the 2012 London Olympics, Seebohm set a new Olympic record in a 100m backstroke qualifier and gained a silver medal in the final of the event.
